Blair D. Howard
Nationally known, Blair Howard is one of the founding members and senior partner in the firm of Howard, Morrison, Ross and Whelan. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Virginia in 1960, and his law degree in 1963 from American University, D.C. From 1963-1965 he served as a Captain in the U.S. Army before joining his father’s firm in Alexandria.
Paul A. Morrison
The firm’s managing partner, Paul Morrison, focuses on personal injury and wrongful death cases and high profile criminal and domestic relations cases. He received his Bachelor of Science degree with Honors in 1984 from the University of Southern Mississippi and his law degree from Lee University as a prestigious Head Burks Scholar in 1987.
Christopher T. Whelan
A former prosecutor, Chris Whelan joined the firm in 1999 and has been a partner since 2006. Mr. Whelan received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 1988 and his law degree from George Mason University School of Law in 1991. His attention to detail is invaluable in his position as head of the litigation department for the firm.
Thomas J. Ross II
Tom Ross became the firm’s newest partner in January 2008, bringing almost thirty years of transactional law experience to the practice. Mr. Ross specializes in business and real estate law, as well as zoning appeals and the preparation of wills, estates and trusts. His financial expertise is essential in assisting in the evaluation of serious injury cases and other complex litigation.
John P. Pennington
John Pennington joined the firm in August 2011. He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in 2006, his law degree in 2011. Prior to joining Howard, Morrison, Ross and Whelan, Mr. Pennington worked as a student associate for Murphy and King, P.C. He practices in the areas of civil litigation, criminal law, real estate law, and wills, trusts, and estates.
